Adopt A Shelter Project

As part of our activities to benefit Women In Distress of Broward County, Inc., PEARR is proud to present its Adopt A Shelter project.

Adopt A Shelter (ADAS) is a committee led by Patricia Minski, the PEARR Community Outreach and Education Chair, that coordinates between the volunteer organizations that offer their services to nonprofit organizations and applying those services to benefit our residents’ stay at the shelters. Even though this project was only launched in early 2007, we have already achieved many milestones.

To get involved with or donate goods to the Adopt A Shelter Project, please contact outreach@pearr.org. To make a financial contribution to ADAS right now, please click the donation button below. Thank you so much for your generosity!

Mother's Day Luncheon

PEARR's Adopt A Shelter Project (ADAS) threw a lovely Mother's Day celebration for shelter residents and their children last month. About 40 residents were treated to a delicious lunch that ADAS volunteers served. The residents received Mother's Day baskets provided by Women In Distress, and at the end of the celebration, children in attendance gave flower bouquets to their mothers. Special thanks to our event sponsors: McKinley Financial Services, PEARR's Leonor Soler and WID Board member Carol Molnar. See photos!
