Funds raised by PEARR go to Women In Distress of
Broward County, Inc., the only state certified,
nationally accredited, full-service domestic violence
center in the county. Women In Distress provides
victims of domestic abuse with a 24-hour hotline,
shelter, counseling, and educational programs.
PEARR was created and founded in 2006 by Victoria Dawson as an auxiliary of Women In Distress of Broward County, Inc. Since its inception it has donated over $22,500 to support the agency's programs.
PEARR encourages all professional members of WIDA and friends of Women In Distress to consider further support of our goal of eradicating domestic violence by joining this new Professionals Auxiliary. The complementary networking functions and activities of each auxiliary will continue to raise community awareness and achieve fundraising for our common mission. PEARR invites the entire community to join forces in our efforts to generate more awareness of this national domestic violence epidemic. .......................................................................................
