As part of our activities to benefit Women In Distress of Broward County, Inc., PEARR is proud to present its Adopt A Shelter Program.
Adopt A Shelter (ADAS) is a committee led by Patricia Minski, the founding PEARR Community Outreach and Education Chair, that coordinates between the volunteer organizations that offer their services to nonprofit organizations
and applying those services to benefit our residents' stay at the shelters.
Even though this program was only launched in early 2007, we have already achieved many milestones. Review our first year's achievements in this ADAS presentation (in Adobe PDF format)
To get involved with or donate goods to the Adopt A Shelter Program, please contact adas@pearr.org. To make a financial contribution to ADAS right now, please click the donation button below. Thank you so much for your generosity!

PEARR's Adopt A Shelter Program (ADAS) threw a lovely Mother's Day celebration for shelter residents and their children last month. About 40 residents were treated to a delicious lunch that ADAS volunteers served. The residents received Mother's Day baskets provided by Women In Distress, and at the end of the celebration, children in attendance gave flower bouquets to their mothers. Special thanks to our event sponsors: McKinley Financial Services, PEARR's Leonor Soler and WID Board member Carol Molnar. See photos!
